Work Drinks again...

I did another drinking session with work on Friday, just a short one for me as I met up with K later. Well, it seems it ran rather the same way Monday did and after a little catch up with some of them it seems this is just about normal here.

Bruised and Happy

Due to a wonderful idea by my lass K we went on a Archer day this Saturday which rocked. It was just like paintballing without the macho nuts, well that and shooting targets instead of each other.

I had a little problem with not sticking my elbow out and thus I have sum stunning bruises down my arm from the bow string and by the end of the day that arm looked like it belonged on Mr StayPuff as the more I bruised the more padding they added.

I would highly reckon the place (http://www.robinhoodevents.co.uk)

It's been a while....

...and nothing has really changed.

The house is a bit more decorated, but we are still on the first room (since November when we moved in). I think now a few things are out of the way the momentum for this may increase, many as I want a pool table.

Job-wise I have moved from Aon through IT Net and am now writing portal stuff for a land management sort of company. Tech all the same, money slightly less, but at least I have a job and am paying the bills.

Otherwise, I am getting back into Scuba, visiting Lisbon (for the penguins) and waiting for my next Snowboarding holiday in January. January just seems far too long a time before I can be playing in the snow again.

That's about it I think, 6 months or so on and all the same. Maybe I should be depressed about that, and I would be if I was not enjoying it so much.

Leaving Drinks to Plan...

I have just been told (off the record by a friend) that I have no hope of getting another renewal at AON due to lack of work.

So, leaving drinks need a planning. I am thinking normal local pub (Hogshead at America Square) drinks, but, maybe that has been done before.

Must think of something better..... Suggestions?

Time to move on

Well, it seems after 4+ years they are finally bored of me and my contract is coming to an end. When? Christmas Eve. What a nice present. This means no work realistically until late January (as I am snowboarding mid January) and lots of house decorating being done instead, how nice.

Christmas Eve..... forget that, I have started looking now and have been surprised. 15 mails to agents, 8 calls back (in 3 hours), some about duplicate jobs (shame). I am now forward for 3 of them. It does seem the market is not paying quite as well as I would like, but not as bad as it could be.

Now lets work out how I get all those books back home.....
